Zelenskiy approved the agreement with the EU on "transport visa-free"

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy approved the agreement between Ukraine and the European Union on freight transportation by road - the so-called "transport visa-free".

The decree was published on the website of the head of state on September 16.

"To approve the Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union on freight transportation by road, concluded on June 29, 2022 in the city of Lyon," the decree reads.

As a reminder, on June 29, Ukraine and the European Union signed the Agreement on freight transportation by road, also known as "transport visa-free".

The agreement cancels the need for Ukrainian carriers to obtain appropriate permits for bilateral and transit transportation to EU countries and allows to avoid stopping the export of Ukrainian products through road checkpoints.

The Agreement also provides for measures to simplify the recognition of driver's licenses. Ukraine and the EU now exempt holders of driver's licenses issued by one of the parties from the requirement to have an international driver's license.

The term of the agreement is one year with the possibility of extension, and it temporarily came into force on the day of signing.
