Ukraine is open to investigations, but international organizations must demand a halt to Russian aggression - Ministry of Defense

Ukraine is open to investigations, but international organizations must first and foremost demand that the Russian aggression be stopped, Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Anna Malyar said.

"In this situation, the primary should not be advice to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which are now defending Europe. Today the primary from all international organizations should be a demand to the whole world to stop the international crime of Russian aggression, from which thousands of civilians have already died, and Russia will not stop on the territory of Ukraine. So in this situation, Ukraine is open to investigations, and we are conducting them, but we believe that the key demand and attention of the whole world should be the actions of the Russian Federation, which are a threat to the whole world," Malyar said at a briefing at the Ukraine Media Center in Kyiv on Thursday.

The deputy head of the Defense Ministry stressed that such studies do not take into account a number of factors, such as the fact that the Russians are using tactics to seize and hold population centers.

"While we wait for the Russian enemy in the field, as some sometimes advise us, the Russians will simply occupy all our houses. Therefore, Ukrainian towns and villages are being strengthened and defended against the international criminal, the criminal state, which is the Russian Federation, and the invader," Malyar explained.

She added that for the principle of achieving the greatest effectiveness is the deployment of anti-aircraft defense units to cover the skies over the settlements.

"When there is no analysis of the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the war in the text about the actions of the enemy, it is like a study of the actions of the victim without taking into account the actions of the armed rapist, that is, to get objective conclusions with such an approach is simply impossible," pointed out Malyar.

According to her, it is important to remember Bucha and Mariupol for the study to be objective, and at least on these examples to show all the violations and international crimes that Russia commits.

Earlier Amnesty International published a statement saying that the Ukrainian army allegedly endangers the civilian population of the country because it "creates its bases in populated areas".
