Russia failed to completely cut off Lysychansk and advance to Slavyansk, - ISW

Russian troops were unable to completely cut off Lysychansk from the communication routes to Bakhmut. The occupiers also failed in their attempt to advance toward Slavyansk.

This is reported by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

It is noted that Russian troops conducted unsuccessful offensives north of Slavyansk. Ukrainian troops resisted Russian attacks in Mazanivka and Dolyna.

Russian offensives were largely stalled around Izyumsk, as they focused their attention on the Severodonetsk and Lisichansk area.

ISW analysts' main conclusions:

Russian forces gradually advanced southwest of Lysychansk near the T1302 Bakhmut-Lysychansk highway, but did not completely cut the Ukrainian lines of communication to Bakhmut.

East of Bakhmut, the occupiers advanced at a measured pace during offensive operations.

Ukrainian forces repulsed the enemy offensive north of Slavyansk.

Russian forces made limited and localized attacks on contested front lines around Kharkov, but did not advance on June 27.

Ukrainian counterattacks along the south continue to force Russian forces to prioritize defensive operations along the line of contact.

Russian occupation authorities are taking steps to increase economic control over the occupied territories and force the Ukrainian population to switch to the ruble.

As a reminder, the occupiers are constantly destroying Lysychansk with all possible weapons. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lack long-range artillery.
