Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde signed an application for the country's membership in NATO. This was reported by SVT.

"This is perceived as a big, serious event, as a step that we consider the best for Sweden," Linde said.

According to her, Sweden's application will be submitted along with that of Finland.
