The European Parliament adopted a resolution approving Moldova's application for membership in the European Union. And also with a call to grant it the status of a candidate country. This was reported by the website of the European Parliament.

In the resolution the European Parliament noted that Moldova is on the right track in carrying out key reforms. It also noted that Chisinau has been disproportionately affected by Russia's invasion of Ukraine, taking in more than 450,000 Ukrainian refugees, nearly 100,000 of whom remain in the country. In this regard, MEPs call on the EU to provide macro-financial assistance.

In addition, the resolution states that the EU should grant it candidate status, and the European Commission should complete an assessment of the application as soon as possible.
