Russian Citizens Against Recognition of the DPR and LPR in Tbilisi

Russian citizens living in Tbilisi held a rally today in front of the Ukrainian embassy in support of Ukraine and against the recognition of the DPR and LPR.

"I want to express my solidarity with Ukraine. I just can't watch everything that's going on while staying at home. I wanted to show that not all Russians approve of what has been going on for eight years. And these days, the situation on Russia's part is starting to escalate and get worse. I'm tired of being ashamed of having a Russian passport, I'm tired of watching this creature rule the country," says Alyona Zaitseva, editor of the Tbilisi_life telegram channel.

"I oppose the Kremlin's harsh policy on the territory of Ukraine. And here with us the citizens of Russia and the citizens of Belarus to support Belarus," says journalist Nina.

"This man has been sitting in his bunker for a long time, he doesn't see anyone, and he's probably had enough - too much has accumulated in him, too much needed to speak out. And the speech was, in my opinion, spontaneous. Everyone was to blame - both NATO and Ukraine. He had simply too much to deal with and he had to speak out about all his problems," says Nina.

In front of the embassy, Russian citizens drew attention to the fact that Attorney General Krasnov's speech was not included in the broadcast from the Security Council meeting.

"I came here to protest Russia's actions in unleashing war in Ukraine. I am sort of a dissident myself in Russia, and knowing that Putin is doing outrage in Russia, I have a negative attitude towards his government. And this meeting is very relevant, and I'm very supportive of it. I fully share the fear that this is the beginning of World War III, because the president's decree already contains orders to start military action," said Nikolai from Russia, a participant in the rally.

"We're very curious, what did Krasnov say that his speech was just cut out? Maybe in terms of Russian law, he pointed out the unacceptability of tearing away the territories of a neighboring state? And Naryshkin and Mishustin's trembling speech - it was clear that they were afraid to take part in all this," said the protesters to Frontnews.

There were citizens of Belarus living in Tbilisi among the demonstrators. When asked for an interview, the Belarusians asked their front man - poet Lev Mikheev.

"During Putin's speech I had mixed feelings - on the one hand, Spanish shame, and on the other hand, hope that now, having understood everything, the world community will be determined to put an end to fascism. Because there is no place in the civilized world for this figure who considers himself to be the president of Russia. He lives in his own world, for many years he has lost touch with reality. Putin is war, Boris Nemtsov talked about it. This chieftainism is an ugly phenomenon for the modern world, and it must be stopped," says poet Lev Mikheev from Belarus.

The Belarusians especially noted the activities of Lukashenko, who has provided the territory with troops for joint exercises with Russia.

"Lukashenko is a written-off character, totally dependent on Russia. He is the number two defendant for the international tribunal in The Hague. Therefore, the end is near, I believe," said Leo Mikheyev.
