U.S.-led military exercises began in Latvia

International military exercise Saber Strike 22 under the command of the U.S. military command in Europe begins in Latvia. This is reported by the Latvian Defense Ministry.

 

According to this information about 400 American military servicemen, about 100 vehicles and 22 military helicopters American Apache will participate in exercises, which will last until March 23.

 

About 800 US troops and up to 250 pieces of military equipment will arrive from Lithuania by February 28 on public roads.

 

Latvia will host international military maneuvers "Crystal Arrow 22" organized by the mechanized infantry brigade of the Latvian land forces from February 28 until March 11.

 

It is planned that about 2.8 thousand soldiers and militia from Latvia and the US, as well as from ten other countries, members of the NATO multinational battalion stationed in the country will take part in it. Besides more than 300 units of air and ground technics will be involved.

 

As part of the U.S. Air Force Europe exercise in March, KC-135 air tankers will be stationed in each of the Baltic states to conduct joint exercises with U.S. Army F-15 fighters stationed in Estonia.
