Ukraine, Great Britain and Poland officially announced the creation of a new trilateral alliance

Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba held talks with the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom, Liz Truss, who is visiting Ukraine for the first time. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

During the visit of the head of British diplomacy to Ukraine, Kiev, London and Warsaw officially announced the creation of a new trilateral format of Ukrainian-British-Polish cooperation. The heads of diplomatic missions agreed upon the parameters of the new alliance and priority spheres of cooperation and issued a joint statement on this subject.

 

Dmytro Kuleba stressed that Ukraine is grateful to Britain and Poland, standing side by side with the Ukrainian people in efforts to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state within its internationally recognized borders.

 

"The trilateral alliance will strengthen economic, trade and energy cooperation between Ukraine, Poland and Great Britain. It will also help protect Ukraine from Russian aggression. This format will be an effective guarantee of peace, security and development in Europe", - stressed the Minister.

 

The visit of the head of British diplomacy showed the solidarity of Great Britain with Ukraine against the background of aggressive actions of the Russian Federation and was a continuation of the strategic dialogue between the two countries in the field of political relations, security, trade and contacts between people.

 

"Thanks to the active dialogue and agreements between President Zelensky and Prime Minister Johnson, the Ukrainian-British strategic partnership has reached an unprecedentedly high level," Dmytro Kuleba said.

 

The ministers coordinated positions in the context of implementing a comprehensive package to deter Russia from further aggression, discussed steps to de-escalate the situation and intensify the political and diplomatic settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict.

 

The Minister expressed gratitude for the UK's leadership role in consolidating international support for Ukraine and strengthening its defense capabilities: "Today Ukraine has a reliable ally whose actions speak for themselves. London has transferred modern defense weapons to Ukraine and demonstrated its readiness to apply tough sanctions against Russia at lightning speed.
