The agreement on security guarantees between Ukraine and Spain has been officially signed, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said during a press conference. This is the tenth such document for Ukraine, he noted, emphasizing the importance of this political step.
The agreement defines future prospects of cooperation and stability for Ukraine.
Spain supports security as an integrated process, covering financial, military and industrial aspects of cooperation between countries.
The agreement covers such important issues such as support, reconstruction and demining, and provides for significant financial support from Spain to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities, including protection against air attacks on civilian objects and infrastructure.
As we reported earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced plans to sign a bilateral security agreement during his visit to Spain.
