Electricity consumption restrictions are in effect throughout Ukraine throughout the day - Ukrenergo

Today, on May 23, electricity consumption restrictions are in effect in all regions of Ukraine for industrial and residential consumers throughout the day - from 00:00 to 24:00. This was reported by the press service of Ukrenergo.

Dense cloud cover in most regions prevents solar power plants from operating at their maximum capacity during daytime hours, the company explains.

Ukrenergo's dispatch center has assigned each regional power distribution company a certain consumption limit for each region. In case of exceeding it, hourly outage schedules will be used.

“Restoration works and planned repairs are underway. At the same time, dense cloud cover in most regions prevents solar power plants from operating at their maximum capacity during the daytime,” the statement said.

Ukraine attracts emergency assistance from three European countries, which is used during the daytime - from 09:00 to 17:00.

Also today, electricity is being imported from Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and Moldova in the total amount of 13,990 MWh, with a maximum capacity of up to 1,521 MW in some hours.

In the morning, 418 settlements were cut off in Ukraine. New outages have been reported in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Sumy and Kharkiv regions due to hostilities.
