The West does not push Ukraine to negotiations - Zelensky

The West does not push Ukraine to negotiations, but “in an atmosphere of peace, it is possible”. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky at a meeting with journalists.

“Our partners do not push us. Although it seems to me that in an atmosphere of peace, this is the case. And here we just need to be very resilient and strong. And the right platform has been chosen today, where we have an initiative - the Peace Summit,” Zelensky said.

The President said that the agreement on the points of the peace formula should be similar to a “grain deal.” Then the plan was agreed with the UN and Turkey, and they separately agreed on this plan with Russia. According to Zelensky, it is important that there are not two countries, otherwise the Russians will “jump out” as they did with the grain corridor.

He believes that before talking to Russia, there needs to be a “detailed plan agreed upon by the whole world.”

“After that, we can organize platforms in certain countries where each of these points will be technically worked out. And then this plan will be presented to the representatives of Russia,” Zelensky said.

It is worth noting that Europe1, citing sources, claims that Western countries are planning to put “coordinated pressure on Zelensky to start negotiations.”

“Western armies seem to have come to their senses. Ukraine will have to negotiate an end to the war, risking the worst-case scenario, in which the Russians open another front. According to Europe 1, Western offices are preparing a coordinated diplomatic action to convince Volodymyr Zelensky to accept the principle of negotiations. It is not yet clear whether the Ukrainian president is ready to change his war hero costume to that of a peacemaker,” the publication writes.
