Hungary will not extradite Ukrainian male refugees to Ukraine. This was stated by the country's Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén to ATV.

He said that Hungary will not extradite any Ukrainian refugee to Ukraine, regardless of whether he is liable for military service or not.

“We do not investigate whether a person is subject to military service, according to the Ukrainian authorities, or not. Based on the principles of humanity, we will not allow them to be sent to death. Every refugee from Ukraine is completely safe here and receives all the help, whether Hungarian or Ukrainian,” he said.

He called the Hungarian position a humanitarian and legal gesture, as “no one whose life is in danger can be extradited.”

As we reported earlier, there was talk in Germany about the return of Ukrainian men of military age to their homeland.
