In Germany, talks of sending Ukrainian men home have begun: details

Germany is talking about the return of Ukrainian men of military age to their homeland. Roman Poseck, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Hesse, said that Germany should help Ukraine in sending men to the front, Tagesspiegel reports.

“This may also include our help in ensuring that Ukraine can rely on men who have fled abroad but who can be used in the war,” the minister said.

According to him, it is important to “support Ukraine's defense readiness.”

He also commented on Ukraine's refusal to issue passports to male refugees. Poseck noted that in Germany there is “little chance” of obtaining documents that would replace them.

“I'm skeptical because I don't see any reason for this. Ukraine is not an illegal state,” he said.

According to the publication, the issue of what to do with the expired passports of Ukrainian conscripts will be discussed on Tuesday at the level of the states and the federal Interior Ministry. It is stated that Germany is “striving for a unified federal decision” on this issue.
