Ukrainian truck drivers created a petition calling for their reservation from mobilization

On Friday, May 3, Ukrainian truck drivers created a petition calling for a reservation from mobilization. The author of the document is Dmytro Karyagin.

“To add drivers engaged in international passenger and cargo transportation to the category of persons who claim to receive reservation from mobilization,” the document says.

According to the text of the petition, the draft amendments to the Law of Ukraine on mobilization, which comes into force on May 18, 2024, should be submitted to the parliament by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Karyagin believes that if truck drivers engaged in international transportation are not booked, a transport collapse could occur.

“The main argument of this petition is that if this amendment is not included in the law, it could lead to a transport collapse. In order to prevent this, I ask you to consider this petition and make changes in advance,” the petition reads.

It is worth noting that earlier truck drivers complained that they were taken to the TCC right at the border checkpoints.
