Electricity shortage persists in Ukraine: residents are urged to save

Electricity shortage persists in Ukraine, and consumption is 10% higher than yesterday's level. In this regard, Ukrenergo once again calls on the country's residents to save electricity.


It is reported that consumption restrictions are still in effect in Kharkiv region. As of this morning, about 207 thousand household consumers are without power. Industrial consumption in Kryvyi Rih is also restricted around the clock.


"Today, on April 24, Ukrenergo's Dispatch Center has been forced to engage emergency assistance from the power systems of European countries for the third day in a row. We ask all consumers to consume electricity sparingly. And the industry - to maximize electricity imports and use alternative power sources, if available," the statement said.


Imports from Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and Moldova were used for almost the entire day. 


It is reported that in Odesa region, part of the equipment of the local regional power company was damaged as a result of the morning attack. Some consumers in one of Odesa's districts were cut off from electricity.

"Repair work is underway, power engineers are doing everything possible to restore power by the end of the day," the statement said.


Due to the bad weather, 23 settlements in Khmelnytskyi region were cut off from electricity in the morning. For other reasons, 400 settlements are without power in the morning. Due to hostilities: there are power outages in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv regions.
