Commander of the National Guard: It is easier for Russians to change the leadership of the Russian Federation than to capture Kharkiv

National Guard Commander Oleksandr Pivnenko believes that in order to capture Kharkiv, the Russians will have to fight for years. Therefore, their attempts to attack in this direction, if they happen, will not lead to anything. The military said this in an interview with Liga.net.

In addition, the enemy is only able to act in a classic way, storming several distracting directions and one more that will be the main one. For Kharkiv itself, this threatens with constant shelling, as the Russian Armed Forces "intend to destroy critical and civilian infrastructure."

"To capture Kharkiv, they need to fight for years. Remember how long Bakhmut and Avdiivka were held. It is easier for the Russians to change the Russian leadership and abandon their plans than to take the city by putting thousands more of their soldiers," said Oleksandr Pivnenko.

He also noted that the Russians do not need a pause at the front, as their mobilization is in full swing. Every month the troops are replenished with 30 thousand personnel. Accordingly, they do not actually feel the loss of human resources and equipment.

"We need to double their losses. If we doubled or tripled them within six months, we would have a certain result by the end of the year," continued Oleksandr Pivnenko.

As for the Ukrainian mobilization, the commander said that it will "wake up" when Russia starts to put more pressure. He believes that the situation with mobilization in Ukraine may stabilize in the summer.

"My subjective vision is in the summer. Or when the enemy intensifies its intentions to move deeper into Ukraine in other directions. This is how our society works: the more pressure we are under, the more we unite," Pivnenko said.
