Ukraine has implemented the necessary reforms to start negotiations on accession to the EU. Now it is Brussels' turn to start the process in June 2024. This was stated by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda in The Guardian.
Arriving at the EU leaders' summit in Brussels, Nauseda said that "it is important to look for new opportunities for military support for Ukraine."
In addition, according to him, it is also important today "to see that the European institutions are ready to start negotiations and to do so in June of this year."
"We must do this as soon as possible, and this is a matter of our trust. Ukraine has managed, Ukraine has implemented the necessary reforms in an extremely difficult situation and conditions. Now it is our turn," the Lithuanian president said.
