Drone attack halts half of refinery's production near Nizhny Novgorod - Reuters

The operation of at least half of the production at the Lukoil-Nizhny Novgorodnefteorgsintez (NORSI) refinery in Kstovo has been suspended due to a drone attack. The reason was a breakdown of the crude oil processing unit AVT-6, Reuters reports.

As previously reported, a drone attacked NORSI in the city of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region, this morning, March 12.

Anonymous Russian sources in the industry told the publication that the attack damaged the main oil refining unit, AVT-6, at NORSI. According to them, this means that at least half of the plant's production has been halted.

"Lukoil refused to comment," the report said.

According to industry sources, NORSI processed about 15.8 million tons of Russian oil per year, or 5.8% of the total volume of refined oil.
