Germany rules out the possibility of deploying its troops in Ukraine. Berlin calls for an end to discussions on this topic. This was stated by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, quoted by FAZ.
Pistorius made the corresponding statement during a visit to Helsinki on Friday, March 8.
The minister noted that discussions about the deployment of Western troops in Ukraine are ongoing, but, in his opinion, they should be stopped.
"Nobody really wants ground troops in Ukraine, there is a discussion about it now, so we have to stop it at this stage," said the head of the German Defense Ministry.
Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen, whom Pistorius met with, also rejected the possibility of deploying troops. He added that Ukraine's allies should focus on other things.
"But everyone supports increased aid in the form of weapons, ammunition and money, and that is what we should now focus on," he said.
