The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine plans to provide additional funding for the country's defense needs through continued audit and verification of expenditures. This was announced at a press conference by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister was asked if there were any options to find hundreds of billions of hryvnias for additional needs of the military.

In response, Shmyhal reminded them that mobilization in Ukraine continues and he cannot name the numbers. But in this matter, the needs of the military must be heard.

"Will there be a need for the specified amounts? I would like to say that this year UAH 1.7 trillion has been allocated in the defense sector budget for the needs of this year. We understand that this year we will need to make decisions on additional funding. What are the tools? Continuation of certain audits, verification of expenditures. Additional funds will be needed, but I'm not sure that the amounts you mentioned will be needed," the Prime Minister said.

According to him, when planning the budget, the government calculated how the issue of mobilization, the issue of defense operations, and our offensive operations would move forward.
