France considers sending military to Ukraine for non-combat missions

France can send its soldiers to Ukraine to help with various tasks, but not to participate in hostilities. This was stated by French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné during a speech to French lawmakers, France24 quoted.

"We must consider new actions to support Ukraine. They must meet very specific needs, I mean, in particular, demining, cyber defense, weapons production on site, on Ukrainian territory," the head of the French defense ministry said.

Séjourné added that some of these activities may require a presence on Ukrainian territory without crossing the line of hostilities.

"Nothing can be ruled out. This has been and remains the position of the French president today," the minister emphasized.

This is how the defense minister explained the words of French President Emmanuel Macron.
