Latvia will consider the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine if there is a corresponding agreement between NATO allies. This was reported by Tagesschau.


A spokesman for the Latvian Ministry of Defense emphasized in a commentary to the media that Latvia is not against the deployment of Western ground troops in Ukraine.


"Latvia continues to consider many different options to strengthen its support for Ukraine," he said.


The spokesman added that if there is a corresponding decision by NATO, Latvia will consider such a possibility.


"If there is an agreement between NATO allies to send troops to Ukraine, Latvia will consider the possibility of participation," the Latvian official added.
