Kirby: Russia will seize more territory if we don't help Ukraine

US President Joe Biden's National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby has warned that if military aid is delayed for another month or two, Ukraine will continue to lose ground, and Russian troops will increase their success on the battlefield. He said this during a briefing, The Hill reports.

The American official emphasized that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are experiencing an acute shortage of ammunition and described the situation as "very difficult."

"I will not assume that the Defense Forces will lose the war on any particular day. But they are definitely losing territory that they have already won back from the Russians because they cannot repel their attacks," Kirby emphasized.

He also commented on the words of the Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson, who assured that "aid to Ukraine will arrive in a timely manner."

"What exactly do you mean by the word 'timely'? For soldiers in Ukraine, 'timely' means 'right now'. The Russians are advancing, this is not a frozen conflict," the White House spokesman emphasized.
