The European Commission has agreed to increase the amount of funding for Ukraine in 2024 to €16 billion under the Ukraine Facility program. This was reported by several sources familiar with the EC's decision.
"The amount of funding for the current year is 16 billion euros," one of the sources said.
At the same time, the size of the first tranche, which is expected in March, will amount to EUR 4.5 billion.
It is worth noting that the EC was previously ready to allocate only €9 billion of the total amount of the four-year Ukraine Facility program in 2024. This is despite the fact that Ukraine was counting on €18 billion.
