EU promised support for Ukraine after change of the Commander-in-Chief of the AFU

The European Commission has stated that the European Union's support for Ukraine will remain unchanged after the resignation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi. This was announced on Friday in Brussels by the spokesperson for the EU Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Nabila Massrali.

The spokesperson called the replacement of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces an internal decision of Ukraine, which is the prerogative of the president. She assured of Brussels' firm support for Kyiv.

"The EU's support for Ukraine is unwavering. We have pledged to support Ukraine for as long as necessary and to provide everything that is needed, regardless of who leads the Armed Forces of Ukraine," Massrali said.
