Rada committee supports Zelensky's draft law on multiple citizenship

The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Human Rights has supported the draft law on multiple citizenship by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. This was reported by the Verkhovna Rada on Telegram.

"At its meeting on February 6, the Committee supported the draft law on certain issues in the field of migration regarding the grounds and procedure for acquiring and terminating Ukrainian citizenship (No. 10425), submitted by the President of Ukraine," the statement said.

At the same time, it is noted that Zelensky defined the document as urgent.

"The draft law updates the provisions of the legislation in the field of migration and citizenship, in particular on the grounds and procedure for acquiring and terminating Ukrainian citizenship, and improves the legal regulation of issues related to the status of foreigners and stateless persons who, as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other formations established in accordance with the law, participate in the protection of the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine," the statement said.
