Ukraine's victory in the war is the best security guarantee for Europe. Russia's imperial ambitions must go to the dustbin of history. This is stated in an article by the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell.
According to Borrell, the world is once again hearing statements that Ukraine will not be able to win the war against Russia, and therefore the countries should reconcile.
"These ideas were wrong in 2022, and they remain wrong today. We should not allow them to shape our policy towards Ukraine," he explained.
In particular, Borrell added that Ukraine's victory in the confrontation with Russia is the best guarantee of security for Europe, as after the war, Russia will reduce pressure on its neighbors, ease Kyiv's path to EU membership, and allow Europe and the world to turn its attention to many other challenges.
"With our help, Ukraine can send Russia's imperial ambitions to the dustbin of history. This is what should guide our actions and our thoughts," Borrell added.
