An open international commission should be set up to determine the cause of the downing of the Russian IL-76 near Belgorod, but Russia excludes this possibility, said Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, during a telethon.
"As for the specific reasons for the downing of the plane, of course, the demand for an open international commission is logical and reasonable," Yusov said.
According to him, it is possible to find out what exactly caused the crash by studying the remains of the plane, "black boxes" and, of course, by carefully examining the crash site.
"Well, as we hear, Russia excludes the possibility of such a commission," the GUR representative added.
According to Yusov, the exchange of prisoners with Russia scheduled for January 24 was supposed to be one of the largest during the war.
"We will not provide an exact figure. And before the exchange, until it takes place, such things are not practiced. But it was supposed to be one of the largest exchanges in the history of a full-scale war. In fact, we can say that it was supposed to be the 50th anniversary exchange, but unfortunately, it did not take place," Yusov said.
