Verkhovna Rada is on the verge of a major crisis due to the desire of many MPs to resign - Arakhamia

A major crisis is approaching in the parliament. At least 17 MPs from the Servant of the People faction want to resign. This was stated by the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, LB reports.

"A major crisis is approaching with the parliament in general, because I have 17 applications for resignation in my faction alone. That is, we already have 401 people in the parliament, and we will definitely let one more go due to medical reasons, which will make 400 people," Arakhamia said.

He reminded that a minimum of 226 votes is required to pass a decision in parliament. According to the MP, it is already difficult to collect the required number of votes with 400 MPs.

Arakhamia added that the Rada decided not to vote for the resignation of mandates to ensure the legitimacy of the parliament. In other words, they decided not to let the deputies go.

"I also know that there are people in other factions and parties who want to leave. We have decided for ourselves that we will not vote for the resignation of mandates only if there is a genuine medical situation, but otherwise there are no other conditions under which we will vote for the resignation of mandates. This is to keep the parliament legitimate," he explained.
