Slovakia will not block arms sales to Ukraine and will support the allocation of 50 billion euros from the EU - Shmyhal

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico promised not to block the sale of weapons and to support the EU's financial assistance program for Ukraine during talks with the head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal. This is stated in Shmyhal's Telegram channel.


"We have reached agreement on a number of issues and have specific agreements," the Prime Minister said after the talks in Uzhhorod.


According to him, the Slovak government will not block Ukraine's purchase of weapons and equipment from Slovak businesses, and Ukraine will use Slovak equipment to build defense lines.


Slovakia will also support the four-year Ukraine Facility program, which provides for the allocation of 50 billion euros from the European Union to Ukraine.


Prime Minister Fico assured of support for Ukraine's European integration.


The meeting resulted in a joint statement of readiness for further cooperation aimed at respecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.
