Romanian farmers again blocked the movement of Ukrainian trucks on the border: problems at the Siret and Vicovu de Sus checkpoints

Romanian farmers again blocked the movement of Ukrainian trucks through two checkpoints: Siret and Vicovu de Sus. This was reported by the State Border Guard Service.

"At about 12.00, farmers resumed blocking the movement of trucks in the direction of the Siret checkpoint, which is located opposite the Ukrainian checkpoint Porubne. They also began blocking the Romanian checkpoint Vicovu de Sus, which is located opposite the Ukrainian checkpoint Krasnoilsk," the department said in a statement.

It is also reported that other types of transport, as well as pedestrians at both checkpoints are issued in accordance with the established procedure for both entry and exit from Ukraine.

Earlier, State Border Guard Service spokesman Andriy Demchenko said that the border with Romania may be blocked again. He also said that more than 2,000 trucks are lined up on the border between Ukraine and Poland, and another thousand are lined up on other parts of the border.

"The directions of the Rava-Ruska - Hrebenne, Krakowiec - Korchova, and Yagodyn - Dorohusk checkpoints continue to be blocked. According to the Polish border guards, as of this morning 1200 trucks are queuing in these three directions towards Ukraine," noted Demchenko.

He reminded that on January 6 at about 9 p.m. the traffic in the direction of the Shehyni-Medyka checkpoint was unblocked, but the queues still remain - as of this morning, there are 950 trucks.

According to him, there is a queue in Slovakia towards Ukraine in the direction of the Uzhhorod checkpoint and a queue of trucks in Hungary in the direction of the Tisa checkpoint - 500 trucks each.
