Zaluzhnyi reports on the destruction of two Russian aircraft: an A-50 and an Il-22 were shot down

Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhnyi confirmed that the Air Force had destroyed a Russian A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft and an Il-22 air control center.

"Thanks to the Air Force for a perfectly planned and conducted operation in the Azov region," Zaluzhnyi wrote on Telegram.

This information was reported by MPs from the "Servant of the People" party (Oleksandr Fediyenko and Yuriy Mysyagin) and Ukrainian military publics last night.

It was claimed that an A-50 radio reconnaissance aircraft and an Il-22 bomber were shot down. The first of them, as reported by the deputies, was shot down, while the second disappeared from the radar after descending near Kerch.

At the same time, this morning, Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk posted "This is for Dnipro!", adding that "no details yet" (yesterday was the anniversary of the hit of the high-rise building in Dnipro).

It is worth noting that the list of Russian losses of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine does not include the aircraft over the past day.

Similarly, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said today that the Kremlin has no information that any Russian planes were shot down by Ukrainian forces.

"There is no information. And then, after all, this is a topic related to the course of a 'special military operation,'" he added, recommending to contact the Russian Defense Ministry with a request.
