YASNO has counted more than 70,000 candidates who will be the first in line to have their electricity cut off due to debts. Their total debt is UAH 600 million. This was stated by the company's CEO Serhiy Kovalenko.
"We will not disconnect everyone in a row. We have clear criteria for the amount and "age" of the debt. Currently, there are more than 70,000 such candidates for disconnection in Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk region, and their total debt is over UAH 600 million," he said.
As Kovalenko explained, YASNO notifies customers on a monthly basis about the status of their accounts, so everyone knows whether they have a debt or not.
"When we apply for a disconnection, the homeowner will receive a paper warning 10 days before the disconnection, and another 5 days before that, a notice from the DSO (distribution system operator). This will not happen at the same time for everyone. We don't have a switch," he explained.
Outages may start as early as the end of the month.
