The draft law on mobilization submitted by the government to the Verkhovna Rada will be returned to the Cabinet of Ministers for revision. This was announced by the head of the "Servant of the People" faction, David Arakhamia.
According to him, today a closed meeting with the military command and a closed meeting of the Conciliation Board took place. The meeting was attended by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, Chief of the General Staff Serhiy Shaptala, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada, heads of factions and committees.
"The main issue is draft law No. 10378 on improving mobilization, military registration and military service," Arakhamia wrote.
He reminded that the discussion of the document took place in the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence in a closed session, in compliance with the requirements of the law on working with classified information.
"There were many discussions. We understand the request of the military command and are ready to meet it. But not all the rules can be supported. Some provisions directly violate human rights, some are not optimally formulated. We openly told the military command about this," Arakhamia said.
He added that all political forces understood and support the need for mobilization.
"According to the results of the meeting, the draft law is returned to the initiator. At the same time, we are passing on the proposals developed at the committee and in working groups," Arakhamia summarized.
