Poland on blocking the border with Ukraine: all farmers' demands will be accepted

The Polish government plans to accept all three demands from farmers and start implementing them. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Michał Kołodziejczak, RMF24 reports.

"The ministry accepts all three demands of farmers and accepts them for implementation," he said.

It follows that Kołodziejczak referred to the demands of the organization "Podkarpacka Oszukana Wieś", which today has to decide whether to resume the protest at the Medyka crossing.

In particular, "Podkarpacka Oszukana Wieś" wanted to introduce corn subsidies and increase lending to farmers to 2.5 billion zlotys.

"We are talking about keeping the agricultural tax at the level of 2023. It has increased - it depends on the price of rye. Amendments to the law have been prepared, which must be adopted by the Sejm. Those local governments that agree to apply the tax benefits (...) will receive state compensation," Kołodziejczak said.
