In response to the shelling of Ukraine, Western countries should strengthen sanctions against Russia and provide Kyiv with long-range missiles to eliminate launchers on Russian territory. This was stated by Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski.
"We should respond to the latest attack on Ukraine in a language that Putin understands: by tightening sanctions so that he cannot produce new weapons from smuggled components and by providing Kyiv with long-range missiles that will allow it to destroy launch sites and command centers," he wrote.

It should be noted that Sikorski was appointed Poland's foreign minister last month after a pro-European alliance of parties led by Donald Tusk won the October 15 parliamentary elections. The new prime minister has promised to rally support for Ukraine among allies and end Poland's isolation in the European Union.
