Swedish Ministry of Defense: There are problems with the supply of ammunition - both for Ukraine and for the needs of its own army

Swedish Ministry of Defense has acknowledged problems with the supply of ammunition, both for military support to Ukraine and for the needs of its own army. According to Swedish Defense Minister Paul Jonson, work is underway to formalize an agreement that will provide access to the necessary ammunition, SVT reports.

"We have good Archer systems, but they don't matter if there is no ammunition to fire... It's a difficult situation," Jonson said, commenting on the situation.

According to him, Sweden should build up its ammunition stocks and be able to buy new ones in case of a conflict. According to him, ammunition factories in the Scandinavian countries have been increasing their capacity, in particular with EU funds.

According to SVT, the delivery time for shells from the Norwegian-Finnish defense group Nammo, which has factories in Sweden, is now up to six years. At the same time, Finland and Norway have special agreements that give these countries priority. Sweden is only considering the possibility of working under this model.
