US wants to push Russia to negotiate with Ukraine on Kyiv's terms in 2024, - Finer

The United States would like to persuade Russia to enter into peace talks with Ukraine on terms favorable to Kyiv in 2024. This was stated by First Deputy Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs Jonathan Finer, speaking at the Aspen Institute Forum.

To do this, Washington plans to push Moscow to choose between sitting down at the negotiating table or "dealing with a stronger Ukraine, which relies on a stronger industrial base in the United States and Europe" and is capable of going on the offensive.

"This is a very difficult strategic choice. I don't know what the Russians will ultimately decide. But this is the dilemma we would like to create for them," he said.

For this, the USA and EU intend to increase their arms production and help Ukraine do so.

"In a year and a half, we will be on a much stronger foundation than we are now," he predicts.
