Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who holds the G7 presidency this year, said at the summit that Tokyo is ready to provide about $4.5 billion to help with Ukraine's recovery. This was reported by Kyodo News.
In addition, a statement released after the G7 online summit said that the group is limiting Russia's funding to support its illegal war by taking measures to reduce Russia's energy revenues and its future mining potential.
As part of these measures, the G7 will impose import restrictions on "non-commercial diamonds mined, processed or produced in Russia" and then gradually restrict imports of Russian diamonds processed in third countries.
The G7 leaders will also continue to support Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's peacekeeping initiative called the "Peace Formula".
