The United States fears that Iran is preparing to provide Russia with modern short-range ballistic missiles to wage war against Ukraine. This was stated by John Kirby, Strategic Communications Coordinator for the White House National Security Council, The Wall Street Journal reports.
"Iran has already provided Russia with combat drones, guided bombs and artillery shells. So we are concerned that Iran is considering providing ballistic missiles to Russia for use in Ukraine," Kirby said.
Concerns about ballistic missiles in the White House have increased since Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu visited Tehran in September, where he was shown Iranian Ababil and Fateh-110 ballistic missiles.
