The National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting has appointed an unscheduled inspection of Channel 5 over the broadcast of the program "Rendezvous with Yanina Sokolova", where former MP Iryna Farion was a guest. The decision was made at a meeting of the National Council on November 16.
"The National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting received letters from the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights and the Security Service of Ukraine with information about the broadcast of the program "Rendezvous with Yanina Sokolova" on November 4, where former MP and linguist Iryna Farion was a guest," said Maksym Onoprienko, a member of the National Council.
According to him, this was the reason for the monitoring.
He noted that according to the results of the monitoring, the program has signs of violation of the Law "On Media", which prohibits the dissemination of discriminatory statements regarding nationality, age, gender and other characteristics.
The inspection period is from December 7 to 15, 2023.
