Due to the blockade of the Ukrainian border by Polish carriers, prices for the delivery of goods from Poland to Ukraine have tripled. This was stated by representatives of Ukrainian cargo transportation companies.
"Before the blockade, the cost of delivering a 22-ton cargo from a port in the Polish city of Gdansk to Kyiv was about 1,000 euros, but now the prices are up to 4,000 euros," a representative of a transport company said.
He added that the prices were raised not by the carriers themselves, but by the shippers of the cargo to attract companies to transportation.
"Because of the long queues, many Ukrainian carriers refuse to go to Poland, and accordingly, goods are accumulating in the ports, which are rapidly filling warehouses and need to be exported," says one of the carriers.
This information is also confirmed by an international online transportation platform where shippers place requests for transportation.
For example, companies are willing to pay from 3,700 to 4,300 euros for the delivery of cargo from Gdansk to Kyiv.
