UK completed training of 30 thousand Ukrainian soldiers ahead of schedule

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak wrote in his column for Ukrainian Pravda that 30,000 Ukrainian servicemen have completed their training in the UK. Among them are artillery crews, marines, engineers and combat medics.

"So far, 30,000 Ukrainian servicemen have completed their training in the UK: artillery crews, marines, engineers, combat medics, not including the 22,000 Ukrainian troops we trained before the invasion in 2022," the British prime minister wrote.

Sunak assured that "the British people will stand with the Ukrainians until victory." He also noted that London is working with partners to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities

"I'm proud that the UK was the first G7 country to send Western tanks to Ukraine, the first to provide long-range weapons, and the first to step forward to train your pilots. But, of course, these are collective efforts," the politician wrote.

In his turn, British Defense Minister Grant Shapps said that 30,000 Ukrainian soldiers had been trained in the UK as part of Operation Interflex, having met the annual goal 7 weeks earlier.

"The UK has trained more Ukrainian recruits than it promised - today we have beaten our annual goal of 30,000 7 weeks earlier. We have engaged international partners and can be proud of the real difference we are making to Ukraine's freedom here in the UK. Glory to Ukraine," Shapps wrote on Twitter.
