Zelenskyy announces strengthening of air defense in Kherson after the Staff meeting

Air defense will be strengthened in Kherson, which is under daily shelling, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said following the results of the Staff meeting.

"Specific decisions on the defense of Kherson. There will be a strengthening of air defense, counter-battery, electronic warfare and intelligence," the president wrote.

He also mentions the actions of the Armed Forces on the left bank of the Kherson region, where, according to media reports, Ukrainian troops have formed a bridgehead.

"Reports from the commanders on the current situation at the front in all key areas: Kupyansk, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Melitopol and the left bank of Kherson region," the president wrote.

In general, the meeting "clarified" plans to continue "active actions" and discussed how to become independent of foreign arms supplies.

"A strategic vision of the de-occupation of our land and concrete steps to implement it. Clarification of all plans and calculations for the continuation of active operations. Military budget for the next year. The emphasis is on becoming self-sufficient in terms of shells, missiles, drones, armored vehicles," the Head of State said.
