A global peace summit with the participation of leaders from a number of countries could take place as early as early 2024. Earlier, Ukraine wanted to hold it this autumn. Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva said this in a commentary to Reuters.
According to him, Ukraine intends to hold the fourth meeting of advisers to the heads of state on the peace formula in late November or early December this year.
"And the global summit may take place in February 2024," Zhovkva emphasized.
He assured that the summit will definitely take place. It will symbolize the beginning of the practical implementation of the peace formula and will summarize all the results that have been achieved on this path before.
The deputy head of the OP also acknowledged that events in the Middle East affect the priorities of the agenda of the countries of the region, but the talks in Malta in October were attended by Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar.
"We don't need a summit for the sake of a summit. It is about the widest possible involvement of the leaders of the Global South. Therefore, we must carefully consider the time and place of the summit," he emphasized.
