Court refuses to impose a preventive measure on officer who gave grenades to Zaluzhnyi's assistant

The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv did not impose a preventive measure against Oleh Tymchenko, an officer from the staff of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who gave grenades to Zaluzhnyi's aide Gennadiy Chastyakov. This was reported by the Suspilne media outlet.

According to the source, the judge did not grant the prosecutor's request for house arrest.

"Suspilne" reports that the suspect refrained from commenting on the origin of the grenades. His lawyer said that the officer would refrain from commenting while the investigation is ongoing. Journalists are not allowed to film the court hearing.

The publication notes that the man's status as a suspect remains in force, and law enforcement officers may again file a request for a preventive measure.

Earlier we reported that the State Bureau of Investigation announced a suspicion to an officer from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who gave grenades to Major Gennadiy Chastyakov for his birthday. The bureau found that the suspect received them without the appropriate permission.
