Danilov insists on banning Telegram messenger

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov has once again called for a ban of the Telegram messenger.

"I don't have Telegram. I think it is a very dangerous and vulnerable messenger. And I do not recognize anonymous things. If we receive documents (on the ban) from the relevant services that have the right to do so, believe me, we will not hesitate," the NSDC Secretary said in an interview with Liga.

Danilov explained the need to ban Telegram by saying that there are "systems of influence" there.

"Telegram is an influence system where people start promoting certain things for money. It's not about journalism, it's about influence," the NSDC Secretary said.

According to him, in "99% of cases, this application is used to sit in your phone if necessary."

Danilov also said that "whole camps are sitting on Telegram" and that some people "bought equipment and SIM cards." Apparently, he is referring to some bot farms and networks of controlled publics.
