Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said that European politicians will go to the United States to convince Washington to continue supporting Ukraine, in response to a call from Republican lawmakers to cut financial aid, Politico reports.

"We need to find ways to connect with (the public) on both sides of the Atlantic - not to forget that there are real voters who see their problems in a certain way. We have a plan to travel... to individual states, to meet, for example, with companies that sell equipment that actually creates jobs in the United States. Most of the money that was spent on Ukraine was actually spent in the United States," the minister said.

According to him, representatives of the Baltic states and other countries close to Ukraine may take part in the trip.

As we reported earlier, the Republican majority of the House of Representatives, led by new Speaker Mike Johnson, introduced a separate plan to help Israel alone for $14.3 billion, despite the White House's large-scale $106 billion initiative, which included aid to Ukraine.
