Serbia and Kosovo must meet demands set by international mediators in order to advance in their efforts to join the European Union. This was stated by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen in Bloomberg.


She emphasized that Serbia should "de facto" recognize Kosovo, and Kosovo should implement a plan to grant ethnic Serbs some autonomy.
