Germany will allocate almost €200 million to support Ukrainian energy sector

Germany will allocate an additional 195 million euros to Ukraine for the needs of energy companies this winter. This was reported on its website by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany.

During the talks in Berlin, the head of the ministry, Svenja Schulze, promised to support Ukraine in protecting critical energy infrastructure and economic recovery. These funds are in addition to Germany's total support for Ukraine of about 1.2 billion euros since the beginning of the war.

Half of the new funds are aimed at protecting energy infrastructure before the onset of winter and restoring Ukraine's war-damaged energy system, as well as promoting the use of energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy sources.

This support is directed to Ukraine's electricity supplier Ukrenergo and the regional energy efficiency fund Green for Growth Fund through KfW Bank to provide financial support to local businesses, particularly in the agricultural sector.
